Hi all,
As you all know, Carbon Zero Challenge (CZeroC) 2017-18 journey had been going on for more than a year now and it was an exciting one with a great vision of encouraging innovations in the clean tech sector. Now, the competition is culminating in a Grand Finale with demonstration of prototypes by the finalist teams.
A Quick Overview:
CZeroC is a Green Business Idea Competition which aims to accelerate innovations that address Climate Change. It is a one-of-its-kind contest and a pioneering initiative by IIT Madras, in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General Chennai and Polaris – A Virtusa Company. The objective of the contest is to identify innovative and indigenous renewable energy solutions for India’s unique energy problems and nurture them to reach a stage of market scalability.
Launched in March 2017, CZeroC received an overwhelming response of over 530 applications from College Students and Startups from South India. After a rigorous screening process, 25 Teams were shortlisted for the Phase 2 – in which the teams were provided with funding and mentorship support. The challenge now culminates in a final demo day – the grand finale of CZeroC with an Expert Jury Panel judging the teams’ prototypes and the best solutions will receive rewards and recognition.
